FORCES IN MOTION
BY: Daveigh Taylor
Acceleration
The rate of change in velocity; can mean speeding up, slowing down or changing direction.
Air Resistance
The frictional force between air and objects moving through it.
Balanced force
Forces are equal but in opposite directions
Force
A push or a pull; measured in Newtons using a spring scale
Inertia
The tendency of an object to resist motion
Speed
Determined by dividing the total distance by the total time it took to cover the distance.
Unbalanced Force
Forces are unequal and cause an object to accelerate
Velocity
Speed in a certain direction such as 70 Mph east
Gravity
An attractive force that exist between all objects that have massy
Friction
A force that oppose motion between two objects that are touching and causes an slow down or come to a stop
