Dunn's Corners School
Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
April 30, 2021
Good afternoon DCS!
I hope everyone had a nice break last week from school and for those that could take time off from work. Today we had an evacuation drill. The students did a wonderful job following the safety directions. If we were to ever evacuate and needed to inform you regarding reunification then you would wait for directions via phone and email.
The three elementary principals have worked together to plan spring events for the students. FUN Day will happen for all students. Mr. Collins will be sharing a DL FUN Day with the grade's K-3 DL classes. Grade 4 DL students will be coming into DCS for FUN Day since it is their final year at DCS. We will not be having guests at FUN Day, but we will do some live streaming via Facebook and take many photos to share. The dates are as follows:
Elementary FUN Day Schedule
Grade's K and 1 - June 14
Grade 2 - June 15
Grade 3 - June 16
Grade 4 - June 17
Rain dates - June 18 or week of June 21
Grade Four will have promotions by class out side. Two guests per child will be able to attend. It is schedule for June 24th. The rain date is June 25. We coordinated with WMS so there are no conflicts with those that have a child in grade 8.
Schedule:
9:45 - Lacey
10:30 - Walker
11:15 - Cleary (DL)
1:00 - West
We are excited to bring back some sense of normalcy for the end of the year. This is all about the kids and the kids having fun! We appreciate the support.

Attendance Update
We are 77% into the year! Our RIDE data shows that 7%(21 students - in person/distance) are chronically absent. We are currently in the 78th Percentile! The realistic goal is to have less than 5% chronically absent, but ultimately 0%. Chronically absent is defined as being out 10% of the days in school. This data impacts our STAR rating.
