Fun Run / Boosterthon
I just wanted to remind everyone about the Boosterthon that began this week and will continue until the FUN RUN on Friday. I wanted to let you that the money raised will go to the PTO funds to fund Field Study events next year. I know that sometimes we don't feel like we get our fair share, but I think you should know that the field trip to EDVenture and the T-shirts for the Special Olympics were covered by money I received from the P.T.O. at the beginning of the year. We have also received books from the P.T.O. During the Book Fair events. I just wanted to share this information with you.
The Fun Run will take place on Friday 20th, May.
End of Year Celebration
On June 1st we will be celebrating the promotion of three of our students as they prepare to head to Middle School. ( Oh, yes they do grow up quickly) The celebration begins at 8:30 and we plan to have a variety of snacks and drinks immediately following this event as our End of year celebration, rather than doing something again on the 2nd. Please note both the 1st and 2nd are half days with dismissal beginning at 10:30 for those leaving from the bus loop and 10:45 for those who leave via the main entrance. I will provide more information about start times for our reception next week.
Backpacks
Please check backpacks, as we have put lots of artwork in there today. All of the work has been on display in the hallway and has received many pleasant comments from other students and teachers. It is so nice to know that our kids helped spread some cheer throughout the school. Also, there is some important information about collecting medicine at the end of the year. Please let me know if you did not receive a letter from the school nurse and you believe she has some of your medicine in her area.
In the next week, we will be sending home our pots of Dill that the children grew from seeds. These will be in a sealed bag but obviously need to be removed quickly from each child's bag. These should do well sitting on a counter with good light.
