Providing every student with the keys to open the doors of their future.

A Note from Principal Purfurst

Thank you again to all of our families who took our Parent/Family Survey last month! We've just received the results, so look for for more information from us in the near future about how we will use your feedback to get better into the future!

An Update from Dean Hawkins

Secure Drill #1

Unfortunately we had many adults out this week (including myself) and were unable to take part in this drill. This week we will try again to hold our first secure drill on Thursday at 3:00. The purpose of this drill is to secure our perimeter if there were an incident outside of our building. During this drill students will remain in their classrooms where it will be business as usual. We will however not allow any visitors into the building during this drill as we will lock all doors to our building. Please plan ahead if you need to pick your student up this week on Thursday to do so before 3:00 As you will not be allowed into the building until after the drill. This drill should last between five and ten minutes. Please let us know if you have any questions about our Secure Drill.

Adult Learning

This week our teachers engaged in another round of learning walks where they were able to see student learning in action, reflect on their own instruction, and identify next steps for implementation in the classroom. Learning walks also provide us with a unique opportunity to talk to students in an effort to find out what truly makes an impact on their learning. During these quick conversations students share with us what is working for them in the classroom and what is not. From there teachers are able to make adjustments to better fit the needs of all learners. At Padilla we believe that our students deserve our very best and that is why we have embraced a culture that allows us to continue learning and growing together!
