A note from Mr. Ascher
It is important to remember the guidelines for avoiding head lice. It has been found in classrooms already this year so please be vigilant in looking for it and treating it effectively. This website has very helpful information.
Over the last several weeks many students have been tardy to school. Please encourage your child to ride the bus. This always helps. Also, we open or school doors at about 8:30 each morning. Students arriving to school at 8:35 or even 8:40 are already behind their peers. Students should be in their rooms and ready to go by 8:38 each day. Thank you for your help.
The Novi Educational Foundation is advertising the annual Green Gala. More information is below, and discounted tickets are on sale through February 29th here.
PTO Yearbooks are on sale through March 27. Look for directions how to order below.
Finally, remember to set-aside the evening of February 20th for our PTO rollerskating party. The evening will begin at 5:30 PM.

Novi Educational Foundation
Are you looking for ways where your valuable time can make a HUGE impact? The Novi Educational Foundation (NEF) impacts EVERY student in the Novi Community School District and NEEDS the teamwork of volunteers to cover all the bases. We are looking to fill the roster for our IMPACT TEAM, which consists of participating on one of our seven committees, joining our Board of Trustees or simply adding your name to our Volunteer List to act as a pinch hitter when needed. Talents in finance, legal, marketing, fundraising and/or event-planning are never benched. Our impact is only as large as our roster. We’ll have an IMPACT TEAM informational breakfast on February 28th at 7:30am to discuss our mission, committees and ways to help.
For more information or to RSVP, please visit our website: novieducationalfoundation.org/impactteam, or contact us at NEF@novik12.org.

Cold and Flu Guidelines
As we enter the cold & flu season, we are reminding all families how important it is to keep sick students home. If sick students are sent to school, the likelihood of sickness spreading across our student population increases significantly. The following guidelines may be helpful when determining if you should or should not send your student to school. Please do not send your student to school if:
- They have had a temperature in the last 24 hours (This must include fever free WITHOUT the use of fever reducing medication.)
- They have vomited or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours
- They have been diagnosed as being contagious and are still within the time frame that they are likely to be contagious.
Incoming Kindergarten Enrollment
If your child will be attending Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year, you will have to register them to the District. Centralized Registration is located in the Early Childhood Education Center Main Office located at 25745 Taft Road. Please visit our Enrollment page on the District website to complete the online process. Once the pre-enrollment process is completed online, please call the Community Education Office to schedule an appointment.
In addition to completing the online pre-enrollment process, you will need to bring your child’s original birth certificate, immunization record, parent’s driver’s license and proof of residency to your scheduled appointment. If there are custody papers, we will need to see those as well. A vision screening is also required to start Kindergarten.
We will start scheduling appointments on February 3rd once you have completed the online pre-enrollment process. The phone number is 248-675-3400. We will not accept drop-ins – you must have an appointment for registration. If you are unsure which elementary school your child should attend, please check the school locator map on the Enrollment page of the District website.
If you have any questions, please call our office at 248-675-3400.
Thank you.
