Special Edition: Reopening Updates

Principal's Message

Hello, everyone! I hope that you are doing well and have enjoyed the weekend. My focus this week will be on our further reopening.

We are thrilled to welcome most of our students back to in-person learning 4 days/week beginning this Monday! A lot of work and planning has taken place to make this a reality. It is now happening!

Please take the time to read this Special Edition Smore Newsletter over thoroughly so that you have all of the information necessary to help make this a smooth transition for all. I want to thank everyone, from our students to their families to our staff for making this possible! It has been/is a major undertaking, but well worth it! Please rest assured that safety and health are still at the foundation of each and every decision we make. So...whether your child will be back in school with us 4 days/week or continuing to learn online, we plan to continue to provide a high quality and well-rounded learning experience with the goal of making sure that your child is best prepared for the next grade level and future. As always, please feel free to contact our school with any questions that you may have! Thank you again for being our partners in your child’s education!

-Reopening Updates-

Students will sit 6 feet away from each other while they are eating and are unmasked. This goes for whether they are eating in the cafeteria/multi-purpose room or classroom. Classes will be split in half where half of the students will eat in the cafeteria or multi-purpose room while the other half will eat in the classroom. Barriers will also be used in our cafeteria.

Many students who are dropped off in the car line will eat breakfast in the cafeteria or multi-purpose room where they will be spaced six feet apart. Some of our students who are dropped off in the car line and those that take the bus will eat breakfast in their classrooms. Students who eat breakfast in their classrooms will do in shifts if needed and will use barriers when eating.

Students will be spaced 3 feet apart at all times and will wear masks with the exception of mask breaks that will be given as needed and not all at one time.

Distancing-Students will be spaced 6 feet apart in all common areas.

Hand washing-Students will wash their hands many times a day. In addition to that, they will also sanitize their hands when hand washing is not practical.

Will be used as previously mentioned and are available in all classrooms. They will be used in classrooms as needed.

All requested changes have been accommodated and bus passes were sent out last week. Please contact our main office if you have not yet received your child’s bus pass.
