This Is How We Lakeview
July 2023 Edition: Volume 4
As we celebrate Veterans Day this weekend, a special thank you goes out to all of our veterans who are in some way connected to Lakeview. We truly appreciate your sacrifices to ensure the best possible futures for our students.
Interim grades for Quarter 2 are scheduled to be posted by Tuesday, so please make sure you are keeping an eye out for those updates and checking in with your students on their progress in their classes. As noted last week, the end of Quarter 2 is going to be here before we know it, so now is the perfect time to make an action plan to improve any grades.
If your child is in the 8th grade, please make sure you check out the information below about the Career Center visit. This week, individual messages went out to families who have yet to complete this year's Annual Update in Infinite Campus. As a reminder, students will not be allowed to attend the trip if the Annual Update is not completed.
This Week in our Classrooms
Students pose with their Light-Up Monsters that they created in the Media Center during an enrichment activity facilitated by Mrs. Smith.
Lakeview Values Recipients
Congratulations to the following students for being recognized by their teachers this week for upholding our Lakeview Values: Respect Self, Others, School, and Learning.
Upcoming PTO Meeting
Our next PTO meeting is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, November 14th, at 5:30 pm. The meeting will be held in the Main Office, so please use our Main Entrance (Door A) to enter the building. Any families who are interested in helping with PTO-organized events this year are welcome to attend!
8th Grade Career Center Trip
On Wednesday, November 29th, our 8th-grade students will have the opportunity to visit either Eastland Career Center or Fairfield Career Center to learn more about the available programs. Students will not be able to apply to attend the Career Center until their sophomore year of high school, but visiting the centers now is a great way to learn about what is offered, what the career-focused content looks like, and what the expectations are for a student who attends the Career Center.
Students will need to pack a lunch for this trip. If your student needs the school to provide a lunch, you must fill out this form and your student will need to pick up a sack lunch provided by our cafeteria before they leave for the field trip. Students will be charged for the sack lunch (like a normal school lunch) should they choose to use this service.
To attend the field trip, students must have the Blanket Field Trip Approval on file. This blanket approval is part of the Annual Update in Infinite Campus, so if families have not completed the Annual Update, those students will not be able to attend the trip. If you still need to complete the Annual Update, please the instructions below.
