PLCs:
Grade 3: Tuesday, February 27th
Grade 4: Wednesday, February 28th
Grade 5: Thursday, March 1st
**PLCs for K-2 will not meet at their regular time during the week of February 27-29. PLCs for K-2 will resume on March 13th. Grades 3-5 will meet again this week in PLCs.
Faculty Meeting: There will be a faculty meeting on Wednesday, March 28th. Please check with your team lead or an IRT to ensure you are prepared for break out sessions. Thank you.
February 28th Faculty Meeting Sessions: (pick one and bring the following) Follow up from last month's sessions.
- Session# 1 (Facilitator, Mr. LaCount): Bring a class artifact/assessment that you have rated (e.g., DC, SC, PC, NY). Bring the scored artifact. Focus of session: Discuss a plan for a flex group or small group instruction with colleagues.
- Session # 2 (Facilitator, Mrs. Rohrer): Bring a PCR or CGI problem. Focus of session: Work collaboratively with colleagues to create an Online Assessment of a PCR or CGI problem to administer to students. Data for the assessment will be collected in Unify. This can count as your online assessment for marking period 3.
Google Drive Data Cards: Data entry for L.E.S. data cards is due by Wednesday, February 28th. Thank you for updating data cards with Mid Year data.
Early Dismissal Day: March 2nd is an early dismissal day and End of the Interim. The day is to be used for Professional Responsibilities and Collaborative Planning
Jump Rope for Heart begins next week! Thank you to Mr. P for your hard work and leadership for such a great cause to many!
The end of the interim for MP3 is March 2nd. Please make sure grades and HAC are up to date. Thank you.
Read Naturally: There will be read naturally training/refresher on Thursday, March 1st at 3:45 p.m. in the Media Center. Training will be provided by Mrs. Dvorak, SMCPS ELA Supervisor.

Thursday: March 1st: Come Over to My House: Dress like a friend! Twin day!
Friday: March 2nd: The Cat in the Hat: Dress like your favorite Dr. Seuss character or wear red and white!

The Unify question database contains pre-created PARCC release items for ELA and Math. For directions about how to build and release tests using these items, you may look at the Unify Support Site.

Further questions about building tests from existing PARCC items can be referred to Jeff Gibson in the Office of Accountability and Assessment (jsgibson@smcps.org). - New Teacher Seminar will be held this Wednesday, February 21 from 5:00 - 7:00 at the Tech Center.
- Skills for Coaching and Mentoring will begin on February 28th. This course is required of all SMCPS' instructional mentors. If there are teachers in your building who are interested in mentoring a first-year teacher, pre-service teacher, or field study college student, please encourage them to register for this course via PM PD.
- Information Technology Services (ITS) will be performing maintenance for the Equitrac printing server on Friday, February 23 from 7:00 - Saturday, February 24 9:00 p.m. "Follow-me printing" to the Konica printer/copiers will be unavailable during this window.
- Pre-K PLC: The Pre-K PLC will not meet on the upcoming early dismissal day on March 2, 2018. This time should be used for parent workshops, family engagement, and parent conferences. This change is a result of future forthcoming Conscious Discipline training that will occur on the early dismissal day in April which has historically been used for parent and family engagement.
