August/September Edition

We are so excited to begin our 2016-2017 school year on Monday! Our hallways are ready to receive our East students and we know it is going to be an amazing year! This is the first of monthly newsletters that we will share through Facebook and Skylert this year to help communicate campus happenings and information.

We want to take time to thank you now for the patience we know you will extend to us as we work to establish travel patterns and to finalize our procedures to ensure our students are safe and our practices are as efficient as possible. If you are new to East, please know that traffic is challenging the first few days of school but will quickly improve as procedures are fine tuned.

You may walk your students in to their classrooms for the first 3 days of school. We do encourage you to allow your child to walk in to their classroom using their typical routine as soon as you feel comfortable to do so. On Thursday, we will ask all students to walk in as part of their usual drop off routine. We will have many of our employees on duty helping to assist students as needed. I know this can be extremely difficult for our Kindergarten parents but I promise you, they can do it! And we are here to help.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any way. We look forward to partnering with you this year to ensure this is a great year for your child and your family!

School Hours for 2016-2017

Our times will also be adjusted for next school year because of the district adopted calendar and the new state requirement that students complete a minimum number of instructional minutes vs. a minimum number of days. Beginning in the Fall of 2016, school will begin at 7:45 a.m. and the tardy bell will ring at 8:00 a.m. Doors will open at 7:15 a.m. for students to enter the building. School will officially end at 3:15 p.m. We will dismiss Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade students for pick-up beginning at 3:15 p.m. and 3rd Grade will dismiss beginning at 3:25 p.m. Our buses will begin loading students at 3:15 p.m.

If you are cleaning out closets and find pants or shorts that you may no longer need, you can donate them to the nurse's office. We are running low on back up bottoms for students that may need a change of clothes during the school day. We could use both girl and boy bottoms in all sizes. Thank you!
