Basketball to Honor Seniors Thursday Night
Hewitt-Trussville Basketball will host Senior Night Thursday in between the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys games. Coach Tonya Hunter and her staff will honor Senior Erica Jones. Coach Jeff Baker and his staff will honor Cameron Glover, Colin Glover, JaColby Thomas, J'Vahn Durgan, Brandan Copeland and Treagan Lockett. HT Basketball Senior Cheerleaders will also be honored. Those students are Mary Ann Blalock, Savannah Davis, Anna Schappacher, Alexa Tortorigi, Olivia Villari, Maggie Williams, Alyssa Dexter and Hannah Hammond.

Wrestling Places 4th in Georgia Event
Hewitt-Trussville Wrestling traveled to Dalton, Georgia over the weekend for the Coahulla Creek Classic. The Huskies placed 4th out of 18 teams. HT has one regular season event left before Sectionals and State competition.
Here are some Husky highlights from Dalton:
*Dalton Zimmerman placed 3rd in his class and scored 17 team points
*Max Medero placed 6th in his class and scored 10 team points
*Karson Burke placed 3rd in his class and scored 17 team points
*Caleb Hammond placed 5th in his class and scored 14 team points
*Lucas Reaves placed 1st in his class and scored 24 team points
*Logan Reaves placed 1st in his class and scored 29 team points
*Derrick Davis placed 7th in his class and scored five team points
*Andrew Shelton placed 9th in his class and scored five team points
*Maddox Golden placed 1st in his class and scored 25.5 team points
*Chris Hawkins placed 2nd in his class and scored 22 team points
*Colby Cooper placed 10th in his class and scored four team points

Bowling Completes Season
The 2019-2020 Bowling season came to an end last week at the AHSAA State Championships. Hewitt-Trussville was one of seven schools that saw their Boys and Girls teams advance to State. The HT boys fell to Hoover in the Round of 16 and the HT Girls dropped a contest to Hazel Green in the same round.
The HT Boys team finished the season with a 22-5 overall record. The Boys won the Area title with a 10-0 record. The HT Girls finished the season with a 13-7 overall record. The Girls won the Area title with a 8-0 record.
Baseball 2020 Schedule
Hewitt-Trussville Baseball will begin the 2020 in a few weeks! The Huskies are coming off a State semifinal appearance in 2019. This year, Coach Jeff Mauldin's team will travel to Calera opening day (February 17) as they take on Calera and Wetumpka. The Huskies will play at home for the first time on February 21 as they host Shades Valley.
The Huskies will play in a pair of tournaments this season. In early March, HT will play in Hoover at the Perfect Game Tournament. The Huskies will meet IMG Academy in one of the matchups. In late March, HT will travel to Gulf Shores for the Gulf Coast Classic. Hewitt-Trussville won the event in 2019.
Area play will begin on March 31 when the Huskies travel to Vestavia. The home Area games this year will be played on April 2 (Vestavia) April 9 (Spain Park) and April 14 (Mountain Brook)

Softball 2020 Schedule
Hewitt-Trussville Softball, the 2019 7A State Champions, will open the 2020 season on February 20 when they visit Central Phenix City. The Huskies will play at home for the first time on March 5 when they play host to Mortimer Jordan. Coach Taylor Burt's team will play in numerous tournaments throughout the season.
The Huskies will also play in two college facilities this season. On March 9, HT will play James Clemens at UAB. On March 11, the Huskies will play Pisgah at Jacksonville State University.
Area play will begin on March 12 when the Huskies travel to Mountain Brook. Area home games will be played on April 6 (Mountain Brook) April 7 (Spain Park) and April 13 (Vestavia)

Boys Golf 2020 Schedule
Head Coach Steve Patrick will lead the Hewitt-Trussville Boys Golf team into the season-opening event on February 17. The Huskies will compete across the state this spring in tournaments and dual matches. HT will host the inaugural Husky Invitational Match Play tournament on April 6.

Girls Golf 2020 Schedule
Hewitt-Trussville Varsity Girls Golf will open the 2020 season on February 13 when they visit Vestavia. The Huskies will compete in tournaments and matches throughout the season. HT will play at Highlands Golf Course on April 28 in the AHSAA Sectional.

HTHS Tennis 2020 Schedule
Varsity Tennis will be the first Spring sport to begin 2020 competition as they travel to Auburn for the Auburn Round Robin event January 31-February 1. Sectional play will begin on February 6 when the Huskies host Mountain Brook. Hewitt-Trussville will be looking to qualify for the season-ending State Championships that will be held April 20-21 in Mobile.

Varsity Boys Soccer 2020 Schedule
HTHS Boys Soccer will open the 2020 season with a road trip to Hoover on February 7. The Huskies will play at home for the first time on February 19. HT will play in two tournaments this season, Lakeshore and Florence.
The Huskies will host Area games on April 6 (Vestavia) April 10 (Mountain Brook) and April 21 (Spain Park)

Varsity Girls Soccer 2020 Schedule
HTHS Girls Soccer will open the 2020 season on February 6 when they visit Chelsea. The Huskies will play at home for the first time on February 10 when Hoover travels to Trussville. Coach Lauren Wooten's team will play in the Lakeshore Tournament as well as an event in Hilton Head, SC.
The Huskies will host Area games on March 3 (Mountain Brook) March 17 (Spain Park) and April 9 (Vestavia)

Outdoor Track 2020 Schedule
The 2020 Outdoor Track season will begin on February 27 when the Huskies travel to Mountain Brook for the Battle Royale. The Huskies will host the 7-Way Meet on March 5 and the Hewitt-Trussville Invitational April 17-18. The AHSAA State Championships will be held April 30-May 2 in Gulf Shores.

Student Athletic Pass Pickup Information
In an effort to increase our fan base and make game attendance more affordable, Student Athletic Passes will be available for the second time ever for the 2019-2020 school year. Every student in the district (K-12) will have the opportunity to have their own personalized athletic pass card. With this pass, students will be able to enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. The pass is $20 and can be purchased during registration as an item on the activity sheet.

Q. What is the purpose of the Student Athletic Pass?
A. The Student Athletic Pass will be available to ALL students in the district (K-12). Our goal is to make it easier and more affordable for students to attend Hewitt-Trussville sporting events.
Q. What can I attend with this pass?
A. Students that have their pass can enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. Every sport! For the entire 2019-2020 school year!
Q. How much does this pass cost?
A. The Student Athletic Pass is $20
Q. How do I purchase a Student Athletic Pass?
A. Passes are available at all five TCS schools and can be purchased through registration
Q. Do students with a Student Athletic Pass still need to buy a ticket?
A. No. The Student Athletic Pass is good for admission to ALL HTMS and HTHS regular season home games. Tickets will need to be purchased for playoff games only.
MS Indoor Track Performs Well at Gold Standard Event
HTMS Indoor Track finished the 2019-2020 season in style last week as many HT athletes took home top honors at the Gold Standard meet. The HT Boys finished 3rd out of 15 teams and the HT Girls finished 4th out of 17 teams. Here are some Husky highlights from the season-ending event:

7th Grade Girls Basketball Wins Opening Round Game
The HT 7th Grade Girls Basketball team defeated Thompson 28-24 Monday night in the opening round of the Metro Tournament. Zaylen Tucker led the team in scoring with nine points. Ashlyn Howard scored seven points and Ryleigh Wood scored six points. The Huskies will now face Bumpus on Tuesday.
8th Grade Boys Basketball Set to Host Metro Tournament
The 8th Grade Boys Basketball team will host the 2020 Metro Basketball Tournament January 28-31. The Huskies will first be in action on Tuesday at 5:15pm when they face Bumpus. See the full bracket below.

The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team will start the 2020 Metro Tournament on January 28 when they meet Thompson at 7:45pm. The 7th Grade Boys Tournament is being held at Pizitz. See the full bracket below.

There will be a parent interest meeting regarding Middle School Cheer on February 6 at 6pm. It will be held in the HTMS Auditorium. See other information below.
MS Football Parent Meeting

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) requires all student-athletes to complete eligibility paperwork each year. For the second year, this process will be done online rather than in paper copy. Any student, wishing to participate in athletics, that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2019-2020 school year will be required to complete this process. Please follow the instructions below to complete these forms for the 2019-2020 school year. Students’ forms for 2019-2020 need to be 100% complete as soon as possible. This is for AHSAA sanctioned sports only.
