Advent: Journey to the Stable
The joyful season of Advent is upon us! Our Faith team shared the symbols and traditions of Advent with our school community at assembly on Monday. The season of Advent begins this Sunday and lasts four Sundays until Christmas Eve. It is the start of a new Church year and symbolizes our hopeful anticipation of the coming of Christ.
At Saint John XXIII, we will prepare for the coming of our Lord in ways that our students and staff will experience the light of Jesus daily. We will begin at assembly with our Advent wreath and Advent calendar where we will explore scripture and symbols that guide us on the path to Christ. Our grade fours are embarking on their Road to Bethlehem, a journey that brings characters to life along the journey to Bethlehem. The nativity story is alive in each classroom. This is a joyful time of our Christian faith and we are grateful to journey with you and your children this Advent season. Please join us on Monday at assembly 9 am, as we continue the beginning of Advent celebrated at mass on Sunday. May God’s abundant blessings surround you and yours this Advent season with His Hope, Faith, Joy, and Peace.
Blessings,
Mrs. Boehm
