He plays Football, Basketball, and is training in Powerlifting. Connor is 17 and will be a Senior. He is active in the Band and Orchestra playing the Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Cello, Bassoon, and Bass Guitar. Dur his Junior year, Connor was the Co-Drum Major. I homeschooled my kids for 15 years and ran a successful homeschool co-op for 8 years before entering public education. My first official teaching gig was with Epic Charter Schools where I taught grades Pre-k through 12th as well as a weekly direct instruction class for middle schoolers. After Epic, I moved to Santa Fe High School, but I missed middle schoolers so I decided to move to Heartland next year. I am super excited for this new adventure and ready to make some new friends!!

Kelly Odom - 8th Grade Science
I come from a long line of teachers. My parents and step parents were teachers, and I have two cousins, and an aunt who are teachers. My other aunt was a school administrator for a private school. I have 16 years under my belt with experience in elementary, middle, and high school with most of that in title 1. I have taught Visual Art, FACS, and Science.
I love teaching and I love learning. I'm always willing to try new things and believe that if I'm exited about what we are learning the students will be too.
