March started in style as many of our staff and students dressed as their favorite book character as we capped off Read Across America Week. This past week was packed full of fun, laughter and lots of learning, you all never cease to amaze me by joining in on the fun all the while maintaining the same high expectations!
The week ahead we will likely have many parents in and out of the building as we kick off March Parent Conferences. If you all have parent conferences set to begin after 3:30, please be sure to ask parents to enter either through the ASP entrance or meet them at the front door.
Our parents and students have done a tremendous job through our Read-A-Thon Fundraiser. The students seem to be enjoying it and you all have done a great job of reminding students and parents to get connected. As a reminder, this weekends challenge is to meet or exceed our goal of $37,000 and Ms. Tucker, Ms. Craven and I will ALL get slimed for all the school to see. We hope to pull everyone together on Friday at the end of the day to reduce the impact it will have on scheduling as a whole. We have a lot to celebrate and the funds raised will be put to good use by our AMAZING PTSO.
As a reminder, every Monday is a "Mindset Monday". Pair your mindset shirts with denim to kick the week off in style while focusing on our 7 Mindsets!
With an intentional focus of consistency on being curious & crazy for kids you will ALWAYS find a culture that is student focused!
Have a WONDERful Week!

Parent/Student/Teacher Conference - Entire Month of March
The month of March is our second opportunity of the year to have official parent conferences. I encourage you to begin scheduling these opportunities now, please know that while March 18, 2019 is scheduled for a "Teacher Workday" - You are welcome to use this opportunity conference with parents. There will be no meetings on this day that would otherwise pull you away from scheduling the entire day with conferences if you wish. We have talked about student-led conferences in the past, some of you all have ventured down this route with success. For those of you that are still unsure of the process and exactly how it would play out, I encourage you to use FlipGrid and have students pre-record parts of their conference that you feel parents would find helpful and beneficial. I encourage you to have students answer the following questions:
- What do you feel are your strengths?
- What do you feel are areas of growth?
- What is your favorite part about school?
- What is your least favorite part about school?
- What is the one thing you are most proud of accomplishing this school year?
- What can your parents do to help you be the best you can be at school?
