East High Band Students Welcomed OEMS Band Students for a Private Concert Last Week
No personal electronics in class- Away for the School Day
We are only 10 school days in and we are seeing positive results! There is a difference in social interactions of students and a reduction in questionable behaviors related to devices.
Since this is a new practice, there are daily reminders over the announcements at the start of the day and staff have been having individual conversations reminding students as well. For those students needing multiple reminders, a parent/guardian has been notified and a plan is made to ensure follow-through.
Thank you for the continued support of our pilot program. It's not easy, but it's worth it.
Many Thanks to the OEMS PTA and School Community for Donating a Meal for Staff on Conference Night! It is such a special treat.
Masks Optional, As of March 7
The updated COVID-19 community levels released Thursday, March 3 showed community levels were low in St. Louis County. Based on that update, Duluth Public Schools shifted to optional, rather than requiring, masking as of Monday, March 7.
We want students, staff and families to know we fully support those who still want to wear masks. Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
