Learning highlights from the past few weeks
Well...anytime you watch a show or a movie with your child, go on an outing, read a story or book, or experience an event, have your child try to tell you about the activity in sequential order and encourage him/her to use transition words that show progression of sequence or time. (Ex: First, next, then...meanwhile, afterwards, etc...)
THE IMPORTANCE OF INDEPENDENT READING
Your child should have read about 14 books by the end of January. Please check in with him or her.

Our Next Humanitarianism Projects are due Wed. February 21st
Year-Long Humanitarian Projects
• This year students will have the opportunity to show 3 different humanitarian acts within the community.
• Each project will be documented with a picture of the student performing the act/event and a short paragraph. These will be displayed all year to celebrate our acts of good will.
• Between Mrs. O'Rourke's and Ms. Hill’s class, it is our goal to perform 300 acts within our community.
• We will also be brainstorming different project ideas within our school and school community.
