PHYSICAL EDUCATION: It is a GREAT time to laugh and move this week. So, with that in mind, I think it would be fun for the kids to show their parents how to play ‘Cross the River’ in your house. You can create your own challenge course an add your own rules and obstacles. Here is the idea:
Cross the River Challenge: Simply scatter some “islands” or “rocks” across the floor, even from room to room (use pillows, stuffed animals, cardboard, etc). Then, when it is all set, have a starting point and ending point. Have your kids move from one ‘rock’ to the next without falling into the raging river. The goal is to for the kids to help each other get to the other side. It is so fun!!! Make it harder...Can it be done by only allowing 1 foot on each rock?
Cosmic Kids online provides a great way to have a daily time to focus and move a bit while incorporating a story. Here is a good Cosmic Kids adventure to try: https://youtu.be/pT-s1-phgxs.
If your child signed up for running club, even though it has been cancelled, the workout calendar is a great resource for moving daily. I also have your entry forms and money at school. I will not do anything with it and when we get back, I will return that to you.MUSIC: Explore some of the following music websites to get your creative mind flowing. You will enjoy a variety of musical match games, scavenger hunts, learn about the instruments, make your own instruments, learn about famous composers, etc…
Music links: https://nyphilkids.org/ or https://www.mydso.com/dso-kids/ or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDC0w41wYC5qWTcIylU6n2AART: Mrs. Bandstra will do a weekly read aloud and drawing project on her Youtube Channel which she is new at. So there may be some funny bloopers involving Nelson.
