News of the Week
April 18-22
Dear Parents,
- Mrs. Williams
Important Reminders!
Handwriting Homework
- Please find directions for our weekly handwriting homework in the kids' Friday Folders today. The first page is directions and then there are ideas on the back for topics to write about and a picture of how their handwriting should look on the lines.
- I also included oral directions for letter formation that grades K-2 use here at school. Sometimes they need this to break bad habits of letter formation.
- It is NOT important what they write about, just that they are writing and concentrating on good letter formation and using the red/blue lines appropriately. They can write simple sentences with sight words, things that they like, etc.
- Please only have them do 2 or 3 sentences each night... using excellent handwriting takes a lot of concentration and brain power and they do tire from it easily.
- The handwriting homework paper can be torn off and turned in to me next Friday in their black folder and then I will send home a new sheet of paper that afternoon in Friday folders for the following week.
- This is something that is VERY important to the first grade teachers (and 2nd-12th!!), so PLEASE keep up this work over the summer!!
- We had a really fun time on Monday at the Heritage Center, it was an excellent field trip!
