Happy Friday Bobcat Families,


It has been another great week at school starting with celebrating the Lightning winning the Stanley Cup and ending with beautiful weather as we welcomed October.


Earlier this week, the district sent communication about making a request to change a student's learning option for the 2nd quarter of the school year. The form is available on the district website https://www.pcsb.org/Page/34055. If you have already completed the district form you do not need to complete it again. All requests will be reviewed based on available seats and instructional staff, keeping in mind the health and wellness guidelines set forth in the district’s ReOpening Plan. The deadline to fill out the form and request a change is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6. If you request a change, you will be contacted by school-based staff regarding your request no later than the week of Oct. 19.


I know that this communication has created many questions. At this time, the information about how this will impact our school is unknown. If the learning plan you chose for the start of the school year is working there is no need to make a change. During the week of October 12th, I will meet with grade-level teams to address the information we received from the district to determine how we will proceed based on the forms that were completed. As mentioned above, school-based staff will touch base with all families that complete a form no later than the week of October 19th. All changes that can be made will go into effect on October 27th, the first day of the second quarter of the year.

Due to the delayed start of the school year, we have some October calendar changes. Please make sure your calendar reflects the dates below correctly.

Monday, October 12th- Regular school day for students and staff

Monday, October 26th- Pro-Ed day for teachers. No school for students.

Tradition (Brick and Mortar) Students

Thank you to the families that returned devices this week. You are helping us to get devices back into our classrooms at school. If you checked out a device during the 4th quarter of last year and still have it at home, we need it back as soon as possible. This will help us to get much-needed technology back in our classrooms. A reminder of a few ways to return a device.


  1. Send the device in with your child. Teachers will be contacting Mrs. Gabbert to check-in the device if a student brings it to the classroom.
  2. You may return the device any weekday from 8:45 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.


We will begin calling families to arrange for device return(s) next week if we haven't received it.

Breakfast and Lunch Preorders

Mr. Shane and our cafeteria staff are so grateful for the time that you are spending communicating your Bobcat's lunch orders.


When parents spend a few minutes pre-ordering their child’s lunch, it allows our cafe team to plan ahead. These forms allow us to break the meals out by teacher and have them ready when the students come into the lunchroom and reduce the amount of time they have to spend in line. Pre-ordered meals also help us to reduce waste by only making food that is needed based on the orders.

For our MyPCS families picking up food on Fridays, the times for pick up are each Friday from 9:15-9:45 in the multipurpose room. Please drive through the car circle and stop at the double doors for the multipurpose room. Please stay in the car and someone will come to assist you.
