From the Principal's Desk...

April 26, 2019

Hi All,

The School Council met earlier this week and discussed and debated handbook proposals and revisions for the upcoming school year. In addition, Ms. Karidoyanes and I met with the Student Advisory Council and other student representatives to discuss how best to solicit student feedback on Class Rank. We're working on it, and hope to invite a variety of students to meet with us shortly. Many fun events are in the works at MHS- namely, "Matilda the Musical" (see below) and the District Art Show (May 9, 6-8PM) - please consider joining us!

On a serious note, Seniors (and Senior parents and guardians)- it's come to my attention that Senior Assassin is being played out in the community. I don't know how close the game is to conclusion, but if it's still going on, please remember that it has resulted in false alarms for law enforcement and other serious unintended consequences in the past. This "tradition" is in no way school sponsored or supported. Parents and guardians, thank you for discussing this as well as general safety around upcoming events with your Senior.

Best regards,

Mary Watkins

All Night Party

All Night Party will be held from May 24 – May 25 at the Foxboro YMCA.

Please visit our website for information, fundraiser flyers and order forms as well as links to volunteer sign ups:

The ANP planning committee has some really cool ideas for entertainment and activities for the All Night Party, but we need to raise more funds in order to make them happen! The money is used to transform the YMCA into a party venue, as well as provide food and entertainment throughout the night. This of course costs money. All funds used to make the ANP happen come from donations and fundraisers. Please send in your parent donation, and participate in our fundraisers. Let’s make the All Night Party an event our graduating seniors will remember for years to come!

Please make a donation to the ANP fund to support this celebration! Mail or drop off your donation form (Parent donation form) and check, payable to “Mansfield High School” (please note “ANP” in the memo section) to: Mansfield High School ATTN: All Night Party 250 East St

Matilda the Musical

Mansfield High School will present the Tony Award-winning, MATILDA THE MUSICAL on Thursday, May 16th through Saturday, May 17th at 7pm. In addition, there will be two matinees at 1pm on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th.

Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, this family friendly show will captivate and inspire audiences of all ages with its energetic dance numbers and catchy tunes.

Matilda, (played by sophomore, Jessica Zenack) is a little girl with astonishing wit and magical powers. She is unloved by her cruel parents (Steph Michel and Matt Neary) but impresses her highly loveable school teacher, Miss Honey (Kyla Putterman). Unfortunately, for Miss Honey, Matilda, and her classmates, they have to deal with the school's cruel headmistress, Miss Trunchbull (Zeke Solis). Miss Trunchbull abhors children and loves to think up new punishments for those who do not abide by her rules. Fortunately, Matilda has the courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace.
