NEW SCHEDULE THIS YEAR: DAY 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

This school year, we will be using a slightly different rotation for our special area classes (Art, Media, Music and P.E.). We are moving to a 5 day rotation rather than a day of the week rotation. Day 1 will be the 1st day of school. The ¨Why¨ behind the change is to allow for a better balance of class time throughout the year. Historically Monday and Friday classes are seen significantly less by special area teachers. The calendar is linked below.

Before School-Drop Off Times

Breakfast is served beginning each day at 7:30 a.m. Outdoor supervision begins on the playground at 7:35 a.m. There is no supervision for students dropped off at Rosa Parks before 7:30 a.m.

Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

  • Curbside drop off and pick up is in the lower lot. Please enter the south road from Heron Drive and follow traffic. Wait in your vehicle and students will load/unload curbside. Please do not skip ahead in the line or pull out in front of the line as this can be dangerous for students and for other drivers.

  • Please travel at a slow, safe speed in the upper and lower parking lots.

  • The curbside lane in the upper lot is reserved for buses only. Should you need to enter the building, use the upper lot to park.

  • Students who walk or ride their bike will be dismissed from the lower doors at the rear of the building and will utilize the walking path.

  • Please make sure your child knows how they will be getting home each day. Inform your child’s teacher or the school office if there is a change in your family’s plan.

We are committed to keeping Rosa Parks students, families, and staff safe. Thank you for your cooperation!

Schoolwide Title 1

Rosa Parks is a Schoolwide Title 1 School. In the past, Title 1funds were available to

provide additional support to students who qualified based on their test scores. As a Schoolwide Title 1 school we are now able to utilize those resources more flexibly to support any students that would benefit. This fits wonderfully with our WIN (What I

Need) time, which is a half hour each day when students receive acceleration or enrichment based on their specific needs. Information on our Schoolwide Title 1 plan is available on the Rosa Parks website. Feel free to contact the school if you have

questions.
