The Gateway Gazette

Volume IV, Issue 1, Fall 2016

Hello Parents!

This school year is off to a great start! This year, we opened our doors and welcomed over 750 Gators to our Gateway family! That number represents an all-time high for us in regard to enrollment numbers. It is so exciting to add new families to our wonderful community, and we are so appreciative of the support and friendship that our students have shown to their new friends.

In addition to new faces, we have been thrilled to continue to enhance our instructional setting. This year, we were able to assure that all classrooms have at least 7-8 computers devoted to student use! Our students have been so excited about our early Christmas gifts, and we are too!

I want to thank everyone for your help in making our arrival and dismissal process so much safer and faster this year. We have greatly increased the number of car riders at Gateway, however the line, moves much faster and more efficiently. We appreciate all of the help from our TRPD in getting the routine established early on. As a reminder, in the afternoon, please continue to form two lines as you enter our main drive. This has helped speed things along tremendously. Chief Crowe would also like for us to continue to form the car lines on Walnut Lane (by BILO) to prevent our line from reaching the highway.

Please do not hesitate to call or stop by if I can help you all in any way. We are overwhelmed by the amount of parent support this year, and eager to help you all with any questions or concerns that you may have as well.

All the best,

Susan Stubley

Principal

First Grade learns about our community!

Our First Grade Gators took part in a field trip in October, in which they walked the Swamp Rabbit Trail, visited the TRFD, and dropped in on one of our local artists, (and parents), before stopping at Pink Mama's Ice Cream for some refreshments!
