The Mosquitos are Here!
After all the rain we’ve had recently the mosquitos are here in full force. Bites can be very annoying and distracting especially for elementary age kids. Please consider spraying your kids with bug spray before coming to school because they will be playing outside. You may treat bites at home with an antihistamine or hydrocortisone cream if your student has an allergic response. Cleaning bites with soap and water or hand sanitizer can sometimes help with itching.
Let’s make the last week of school great for these APE Sailors!

A Note From the Nurse👩⚕️
The end of the year is almost here, and we request that you make arrangements to pick-up your student’s unused medication from the clinic. Our School District's procedures state:
"Students shall not carry medication nor administer it to themselves. When the course of treatment is complete (or at end of year), parents shall be asked to pick up any unused portions of the drugs or equipment. That which is not claimed shall be destroyed."
Please remember that you must bring medications next fall for the next school year and sign a new permission slip.
In an effort to ensure all students' safety, we ask for your cooperation in picking up student medications from the clinic. The last day of school is May 25. Any medications not picked up by the end of the school day on May 25 (dismissal will be at 12:10pm) will be destroyed. No medications will be sent home with students.
Thank you for your continued cooperation in protecting the safety of our students. If you have questions about the procedure, please contact me.

GT Field Trip
PTA meetings will be held during the school year. All parents are encouraged to become members of the PTA on our campus and attend meetings and events. The PTA typically provides monetary support such as programs, the winter and spring parties, technology, staff development for teachers, field trips, etc., as well as voluntary time and hours by providing people to assist with multiple school activities.
Please contact our PTA President, Mrs. Christi Henneke at president@austinparkwaypta.org for information regarding any questions or to volunteer for the PTA.
