24 DECA members from Hospitality & Tourism and Fashion Design competed at the regional DECA competition on January 11th. Half of the Cascadia Tech students who competed made the top 4 in either exam or presentation. 10 students placed in the top 3 for the region and automatically qualified to go to state. The state competition will be in Bellevue, WA. Congrats Cascadia Tech DECA!
Mock Trial Scrimmage
16 Criminal Justice students participated in a Mock Trial Scrimmage in Seattle. Students received feedback from attorneys and coaches. It was a great learning experience.
Free Haircuts
The Cosmetology SkillsUSA team (Ava Bonner, Samira Paez, Lyuda Chygasova, Kailey Wade, Esther Poshelyuznyy and Emily Linder) at Cascadia Tech will offer free haircuts to anyone diagnosed or getting treatments for cancer. Once a month the salon will be taking appointments or walk-ins. The free service includes a shampoo, haircut, and thermal styling of your choice. Please call 360.604.1080 for more information.
As a team we are hoping to spread a sense of hope and community throughout the city and surrounding areas. You don't need hair to be feminine, you don't need to shave your head to be strong when battling cancer. Our salon will be a safe place for anyone wanting to come in.
