Ott's Outlook

November/December 2019

I have had the opportunity to be on campuses quite a bit this week. Being in our classrooms is one of my favorite things to do and it always amazes me to watch our students and staff in action. The learning experiences that our students receive is nothing short of extraordinary and beyond compare. To watch our students engage in this process and take ownership for accomplishing their goals is remarkable.

Many of you have heard me say this before, but I am truly blessed and honored to lead Temple ISD. I wake up every morning excited to come to work and serve our students, staff, families, and community. Education is the single most important investment we can make in our future. I am so grateful to be part of a community that shares this belief and is committed to excellence for our students.

  • Established in 1883, Temple ISD is 136 years old. We are steeped in tradition and history!

  • We are only one of two single high school 6A school districts in the state to have a K-12 IB Programme.

  • TISD and Temple College are partnering to offer college exposure experience for our elementary students which include Coffee Talks with Parents, College Greeters on campuses, and academic Pep-Rallies to name a few.

  • The partnerships in the City of Temple, including Temple ISD, are being recognized and featured on a national stage by the American Planning Association. We are truly grateful to be part of a community that collaborates to provide the very best for Temple.

  • Our CTE Welding Department hosted their 2nd Annual Wildcat Welding Competition. In one year the interest from surrounding districts and community partners grew so much that the competition was able to offer more than $25,000 in student scholarships.

  • THS Theatre was named as one of six Outstanding Troupes by the State Thespian Convention this year!

...Now that you know, please share these exciting accomplishments with others!
