Important Information for the Week
Lock Down Drill
A gentle reminder that we will finally (hopefully!) be having our lock down drill with Constable Staples on Monday at 11:30am. Let's hope nothing gets in the way this time :) Please ensure your students are clear on what they need to do - all information is located in your Emergency Response Plans hanging in the bag by your door. If you have any questions, please be sure you ask BEFORE Monday morning!
Support for Families in Need
Please let me know ASAP if you would like to suggest a family to receive one of the 4 gift cards that were kindly donated to us by the Port Hope Police station. In addition, if you have a student in Grade 5 or 6 that might benefit from a small care package, please let me know and we'll see what we can do. Unfortunately the turnaround needs to be fast on this one - please email me privately asap!
Math PLC's
Apologies for the last minute cancellation of Math PLC's last week - due to the unmanageable number of OT's in the building, as well as unfilled jobs. Lisa put a lot of work into the planning - the good news is that right after the break, all is set to meet asap! Stay tuned in the new year for PLC plans.
Mr. Cooper's Great Adventure
It seems Steve has been cracking the whip a little too much.....and carpal tunnel has set in. He will be off for surgery on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week. Best wishes for a speedy recovery (and sincere hopes he finished his wrapping this weekend!). Lori will be in full days from Wednesday - Friday. I'll be in a little more than half time as well.
Holiday Get Together
Please join us for a little holiday CHEER at Meg's house on Thursday afternoon! She will need a few minutes to get things organized - so you're welcome to drop in anytime after 4pm. She will post directions to her place on Edsby. Please bring a goodie (sweet, salty, savory) to share and BYOB. We look forward to seeing you there!
Assembly
We've decided that with all going on, we will not have our regular monthly assemblies on Thursday. We've been discussing the idea of a carol sing on Friday morning in the first block, but have some logistics to work out as we are too large to have everyone in the gym at the same time. Stay tuned for more info this week!
Last Festive Friday
Week 3 (Dec 17-21) Challenge: Christmas Play
Read a holiday-themed book together as a class. Re-create the story If you complete this challenge, everyone gets to wear Christmas pyjamas on Friday, December 21st.
Sock Exchange
For those of us involved in the Great GT Secret Santa Sock Exchange.....please remember to surprise your special person on Thursday....so that we can all wear our new Christmas socks on Friday.
Just one more thing.....
