Dear Heritage Families,
Welcome to Heritage Elementary School! We are an amazing building with exceptional students and teachers. I am very honored to be the leader of such an incredible learning community, where meeting the needs of our students is the top priority. This year we will grow together and provide our students with the very best educational opportunities possible. We are looking forward to working with each and every one of you as we embrace the new school year, continue to build on a tradition of academic excellence, and provide a positive learning experience. It is a pleasure to have you as a member of the Heritage family!

Home to School Connection
Studies show that a strong connection between home and school benefit children tremendously. Students whose parents stay actively involved in their education do better in school, demonstrate higher attendance rates, have better social skills, and an increased graduation rate. We encourage you to be an active participant in your child's education by regularly checking Power School, contacting your child's teacher(s) as needed, and staying connected to Heritage through our Twitter @HeritageElemen2.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Thanks for all your help in making our new car rider procedures a success! As you know all car riders will arrive and be dismissed from the South, while all bus riders, both arrival and dismissal will use our North doors. We appreciate your cooperation and support during this time. Please review our video on the Heritage website for more detailed information.

Souper Bowl Food Drive
Looking for another way to "Beat Lake"? We will be collecting donations for CRS (Community Resource Services), starting on August 30th through September 10th for the Avon vs Avon Lake varsity football game. CRS is an agency that provides needed items to those in our community. They are looking for shelf stable items, such as peanut butter, canned meats, canned fruit, etc.. You are also able to donate money to the cause as well. For every dollar donated, we will be credited with 5 pounds of food. The community with the heaviest truck at the game will be the winner!
Fall MAP Testing
Fall MAP testing will take place in the coming weeks at Heritage Elementary School. MAP testing is a way for us to collect information on your child's learning strengths and opportunities. We use the results from these tests to plan for instruction that will help support the needs of our students. Specific dates will be announced by your child's teacher(s). On these days we ask that you make sure your child has a good night's rest, nutritious breakfast and is in attendance all day.
