LOOK......LOOK.......look...... read me!!!

Our biggest issue right now are leggings...... Here is the part of the dress code that explains appropriateness.

Specific standards of dress are as follows:

1. Dresses and non-uniform clothing must be of sufficient length to allow for performing normal school functions without immodest exposure. All outer garments (skirts, shorts, dresses, shirts worn over tights, etc.) are required to be no shorter than six inches above the back of the knee. Spandex shorts, tights, and leggings are allowed ONLY with an outer garment that meets the six inches policy. Undergarments must not be visible. Garters and garter belts are considered undergarments.

LVMS stuco reaches out...

This week, LVMS Student Council students spread Viking Valentine cheer as they shared their homemade Valentines with the residents of New Hope Manor Retirement and Assisted Living Center. Our students exhibited our Viking character traits of respect, giving, caring, and responsibility through this venture. The residents of New Hope Manor were delighted to see the smiling faces of our Lago Vista Viking representatives, and the students were equally honored to enjoy music time with the seniors. Much thanks to Dr. Robert D'Lorm, parent of Diego D'Lorm, for coming to speak to our Student Council in advance of the trip in order to help prepare them and to share information about issues with aging. Lago Vista Vikings have heart!

Counselor's Couch...

Our “Hoops for Hearts” 3-on-3 basketball tournament will be on Friday, February 19. We will run an assembly schedule for this event. The NJHS students are coordinating the event, and all proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association. Last week, the PSAT score reports were mailed to 8th grade students. For more information, please visit This is a great site that is produced and maintained by the College Board, and it has many resources for students of all ages. This link, as well as others, are also posted on the counselor website, which can be accessed from our school homepage. Please visit often, because resources are added regularly.

GT takes a field trip to museum...

Last Friday the 6-8th grade GT students went to the Cedar Park Science and Technology Museum. They spent the day exploring hands-on exhibits featuring sound waves, color spectrums, echolocation, heat energy and magnetic fields.

In addition to the exhibition hall activities they enjoyed a live Planetarium show along with a movie showing how NASA created their Interstellar Boundary Explorer. The movie showed how the IBEX is collecting high-speed atoms to create a map of our Solar System boundary.

The students were challenged to create their own electromagnetic motors and a model of the skeletal system.

LVMS Golf Information for upcoming season...

Golf is one of our spring sports after track season. It is an after school sport only offered to 7th and 8th grade student-athletes. You must have a physical on file as well as all other athletic paperwork. You do not have to be in the athletic period to participate.

Students participating must provide transportation to and from the golf course for practice. They must also supply their own golf clubs, balls, and tees., as well as a basic knowledge of the game and some skill to be developed.

Practice will be twice a week from 4-5:30. Boys and girls will have separate days for practice. The practice schedule will be given out at a later date.

Tournaments will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays after school. Once the schedule has been finalized I will hand them out. Transportation to all tournaments will be provided by LVMS.

Players must understand that it is a privilege to participate on the golf team and to be able to use the course and facilities provided.

**If one does not follow course rules or is a problem, they can and will be removed from the course and team.

We will have an informational and schedule meeting at the beginning of March during lunch.
