Did you know that a giraffe can kill a lion by a little kick?! Well it can!...COOL RIGHT?
Appearance & Classification
The giraffe is the tallest land animal in the world, It's humongous! That way it can reach the leaves on the trees. It weighs up to 2,800 pounds. A giraffe's average height is 16 feet tall. It's a tan-yellow color with brown spots on it's body. Giraffes have really tight and short fur. The fur is close to it's skin. The giraffe gets lots of it's height from it's tall neck and long legs. Giraffes are mammals.
Habitat Information
Giraffe's habitats are pretty big. They live in the plains habitat in the grasslands. Giraffes live in herds in the savannas, Saharan Africa and dry open woodlands . It's very hot and sunny in the savannah. Giraffe's don't really have a house. They don't have a cave, or nest. They just wonder around the savannah. They even sleep standing up with one eye open.
Predator & Prey
These preditors of the giraffes are pretty fierce. Giraffe's enemies are: lions, hyenas, and leopards. A giraffe protects itself by using its horns or knobs on it's head. They head-butt attacking animals. Giraffes kick animals with their hooves. Giraffe's are herbivores or plant eaters. Giraffes eat seeds, leaves, and grasses. It finds it's food

A giraffe weighs more than a grand piano. The scientific word for Giraffe is Giraffa. Giraffes have a black and blue tongue that is over one foot long. Wow!

Tired giraffe
When giraffes get tired (wich only happens like once a week) it neals down on it's front leg.
Giraffe tounge
A giraffe has a tounge that is about 1 foot long and it's pink, blue, and purple. But males have more of a black darker tounge.
Baby giraffe
Giraffes give birth standing up and the baby dosen't stand up untill it's 1 day old. Baby giraffes are about 6 feet tall.
