Principal's Message...
It's October and candy corn seems to be everywhere! These yellow, orange and white treats had me thinking about polarizing views because with this candy it seems to be that you either love them or you hate them.
Conflict is a part of life and certainly present in educational settings because there is nothing more important than educating children. People naturally have differences of opinion, situational understandings and/or values. Empowering ALL means that conflict will emerge and addressing conflict is important because it helps us move forward.
Conflict doesn't need to be negative. If conflict is handled in positive ways, for example, by reflecting to find opportunities for growth or clarity, they can lead to great outcomes for all.
Our Peace Dale family has a common goal- we ALL want the best for our children. If we reframe conflict as an opportunity for growth, change or innovation and focus on this common goal, the possibilities that emerge will be extraordinary.
As you munch on this treat this week, or cringe when you see it, take a moment to embrace a different perspective- be creative and know that it doesn't have to be either/or.
Have a great week!
Best always,
~Mrs. Komocar
