- Writing this Weekend: Many of you have heard about the great things your child is learning about during writing workshop. This past week, we wrapped up how to conclude the process of writing a personal narrative piece. Next week we will begin a new piece to independently apply this unit's craft moves and skills. Because of this, many of our writers decided to take their piece home this weekend to finish revising and editing so that it'd be ready to publish in the upcoming weeks. Personal narrative pieces and all school materials are due back on Tuesday. Although this was not a required assignment, I am very proud of the work/study habits that many of our students are becoming independently responsible for! :)
- Homework: There will be a math assignment coming home with students on Tuesday. It is due back on Thursday. Students should be sure to read at least 20 minutes each day.
- Spelling: Due to the short week, we will not have any spelling words this week. Look for the next list to come home on Friday, October 12th. Students will bring home a yellow list and a yellow sort in their Friday Folders.
- Conferences: Thank you to all of the families that attended conferences this past Thursday! We had a great turnout to support our students. I greatly appreciate you taking time out of your evening to learn about and discuss your child's education so far this year. I am looking forward to visiting with the rest of you on Tuesday evening!
