If you're not sure about your plan meet with your Career Specialist, Amy Miller, to discuss it. She can help you talk through options, interests, and strengths. To get a better idea of what you might be good at, she can also help you complete a career assessment.
Horatio Alger Association
Deadlines vary
Awards range from $10,000-$25,000
Criteria:
- High school senior
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- US citizenship
- Students with significant financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income)
- Students who have exhibited integrity & perseverance in overcoming personal adversity
- Commitment to pursue/complete bachelor's degree in the US (may start studies @ 2-year instution and then transfer to 4-year institution)
- Involvement in co-curricular & community service activities

Wendy's Heisman High School Scholarship
Deadline: 10/18/2022
Awards:
- 88 State Winners receive a $500 scholarship.
- 10 National Finalists receive a $1,000 scholarship.
- 2 National Winners receive a $5,000 scholarship. National Winners and their parents will also be invited to attend the Heisman Trophy weekend in New York City where they will receive national honor and recognition during the televised ESPN Heisman Trophy ceremony.
Criteria:
- Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Participation in at least one school-sponsored sport
- Demonstrated leadership at school and in the community
SC Association of Educational Office Professionals General Scholarship
Award: $1,500
Criteria:
- graduating high school senior from South Carolina
- must have maintained "C" average or better in high school
- must plan to attend accredited institution of higher learning in the fall
- must be US citizen and SC resident
- write 1 page essay on "what career you have chosen to pursue and why"
- 3 letters of recommendation
SC Association of Educational Office Professionals - Marion Garrett Business Scholarship
Award: $1,500
Criteria:
- Graduating high school senior from South Carolina
- Must have maintained ""C"" average or better in high school and ""B"" average or better in business classes
- Must plan to attend accredited institution of higher learning in the fall
- Must be US citizen and SC resident
- Write 1 page biographic sketch on ""why I chose a career in business""
- 3 letters of recommendation"
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
Criteria:
- grades 5-12 making meaningful contributions to their community through volunteer service
Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship
Award: - Up to $40,000 per year to attend an accredited 4-year undergraduate school
Criteria:
- High achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best undergraduate universities
Mercer University Engineering Scholarship Challenge
Award:
-Includes: Welcome breakfast & registration, scholarship challenge (math & language test or media design program for Technical Communication - no calculus background required), parents' program in parallel with scholarship challenge (provides more info about admissions and financial aid processes), engineering lab tours hosted by faculty & students, lunch, afternoon campus tours
Criteria:
- High school seniors interested in studying engineering at Mercer University
- Apply to compete in Mercer University's School of Engineering Scholarship Challenge event"
