Greenwich Free Library
December Newsletter
if Only in Our Dreams
It turns out that the library is ideally positioned to help you make the most of the season and lower your stress at the same time. We have books and magazines with simple and clever cooking and decorating ideas. We have Consumer Reports to help you make gift-buying decisions. We have books that explain the origins of holiday traditions to make your celebrations more meaningful. We have books on meditation, relaxation and time management to help you get it all done without metaphorically blowing a fuse. And books on home wiring if your light display extravaganza blows a real one. As for your 2018 resolutions, we can help you improve your business skills, learn a new language or delve into your ancestry and just about anything else.
Striving and self-improvement are part of our national culture and one of the reasons we have been such leaders and innovators in the world. We at the library are in the business of helping you reach your life-long learning goals by providing access to the wealth of information that is out there on nearly every subject, holding classes and workshops to help you explore some of them and responding to your requests for more.
So this year, make sure to give yourself the gift of a visit to the library. We can't guarantee that you will make your dreams of holiday perfection come true or that you will, at last lose that 20lbs or learn to play the bagpipes. But we can promise to be on your side, finding you resources and rooting for you all the way.
Happy Holidays from the Staff and Volunteers
