Ms. Neugebauer's AM LIT class updates for students & parents @ GC
Welcome
#Newsflash about the Book List
I wanted to check in with you about the book list for the class, which is on the school’s website. It currently states that the Kindle edition is preferred, which is not the case (just an error due to the many tech changes GC has made this summer).
While you are welcome to have the Kindle edition, please note that the majority of your homework assignments from me will be annotation heavy. Some find this task is easier when hand writing in an actual book versus typing copious notes on the iPad in the Kindle app.
I personally prefer using the hard copy and would be delighted to see you bring them to class. Again, the Kindle versions are fine as well, so don’t go re-buying anything! But if you have yet to make purchases, please feel free to get the paper editions.
I’ll always give you a heads up when we are starting a new book, so if you would like to delay in acquiring the books, that’s fine, too. I won’t demand that you show me the full collection on the first day.
Let me know if you have any questions.
The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger
The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, Frederick Douglass
The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald
