INPUT DEVICES
Learn more about input devices in this poster!
WHAT ARE INPUT DEVICES?
In computing an input device is any peripheral used to provide data and control signals to an information.
HOW ARE THEY CLASSIFIED?
- How they input data, whether it's visual or mechanical motion.
- Whether the input is discrete or continuous.
- The degrees of freedom involved. (2D mouses or 3D Navigational aids for CAD)
SOME INPUT DEVICES
Mouse
In computing, a mouse is a pointing device that functions by detecting two-dimensional motion relative to its supporting surface.
MIDI Synthesizers
Inputs music notes and samples into a music producing interface.
Keyboard
A keyboard is a typewriter style device, which uses an arrangement of buttons or keys, to act as mechanical levers or electronic switches in order to input data into a computer.
WHAT'S THE USE OF INPUT DEVICES?
Without input devices there would not be a way for us to 'feed' data into a computing device.
