SWE STAR GAZER
Together, We Shine With Excellence
**April 20 Edition**
A Note...
I'm sure many of you are still processing the Governor's announcement on Friday. It was heart-breaking to hear that Texas schools would not reopen traditionally this school year. We could have never imagined this outcome when we left the building for Spring Break on March 6. All our staff misses our students, our routines and the day to day "normal" tasks and interactions. I bet that some of your children feel the same way.
As we move forward, our goal is to continue to maintain our connections and relationships with our star students and families. As a campus, we will continue with our weekly online learning opportunities and our virtual class meetings. We will also continue to support individual family needs in the best way possible.
Regardless of how much or how little your family is able to engage this 4th nine weeks, please know we support you. Please do not stress about the work. You are all providing real-life experiences that are allowing your children to integrate and apply skills. That's amazing! When they return to us in the fall, we as SWE educators will continue to meet your children where they are and personalize to give them the best learning experience. We value our students and families' emotional well-being.
I'm sure many of you will have questions about how the end of the year will look for our SWE students. Usually, there are so many planned opportunities as we end the current school year and begin to prepare for the new school year. Now that we have definitive news, the campus will continue to make plans with our virtual reality in mind. There is much to process, organize, and plan all while abiding by the Governor's orders and recommendations and aligning with district expectations. We definitely want to celebrate our students' milestones and to provide appropriate closure to this school year.
Please know that we will share information and plans as they are developed. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of our SWE family if you have needs.Together, we will get through this challenging time.
Please tell our star students how much we miss them!

Kinder Pre-Registration at SWE
Humble ISD invites parents of incoming kindergarten students to pre-register now for the 2020-2021 school year
Parents of incoming kindergarten students in Humble ISD are asked to pre-register online now for the 2020-2021 school year. Pre-registering helps schools best plan for next year's classes. Parents of current Humble ISD PreK students do not complete the pre-registration. Pre-registration is needed only for incoming kindergarten students who will be enrolling in Humble ISD.
Pre-registration and document upload can all be done online now while buildings are closed. All required documentation must be uploaded into the enrollment form or emailed to SWE Registrar, Stephanie Cruz, stephanie.cruz@humbleisd.net, before the enrollment process is complete. Kindergarten Roundups, or orientation sessions, have been postponed this month and will be held at an appropriate time.
Visit www.humbleisd.net/kinderenrollment to fill out the 2020-2021 New Student Enrollment form. Students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2020, to be eligible for kindergarten in Texas public schools.
Humble ISD asks families to please complete the online pre-registration for kindergarten by Friday, May 15, 2020.
