Message From Superintendent Mueller
Good Afternoon, CUSD.
Congratulations to our Classified Employees of the Year: District Office/Terri Freepartner, CHS/Laura Orozco, CMS/Ruben Sanchez, VES/Kathy Wood, SSES/Kimberley Junk. Classified employees work directly with our students, staff, parents, vendors, and community to make sure our campuses, and everyone on them, are safe and ready for learning. Classified employees have worked tirelessly and continuously throughout the pandemic, and we are forever grateful for each of them. It is an honor to celebrate our five awardees and the colleagues they represent.
Thank you to the CHS Baseball Boosters for a $20,000 donation to the district in support of the newly renovated Chaconas Field baseball facility behind Silver Strand Elementary. This great bayside venue is a fun place to cheer on the Islanders! CHS Varsity Baseball Schedule
We hope you received our district-wide communication yesterday regarding student behavior and discipline. If you have not had an opportunity to read it, please do so here.
A reminder that beginning on Monday masks will be optional at all of our school facilities. Although masks are no longer mandatory, there are still Covid-related CDPH guidelines in place. Masks are required for staff and students when visiting site health offices, and, per the Decision Tree, students who test positive and return early from isolation or quarantine will still be required to wear a mask at school.
And don’t forget… this weekend begins Daylight Savings Time. Spring forward and set your clocks ahead by one hour when you go to bed on Saturday.
See you (early) Monday morning!
Have a great weekend, CUSD
