The Puma Pride
Week of October 29, 2018
Principal's Message
On Wednesday, October 31st, the Willow Dale Elementary School Halloween Parade will be held.
The entire school parade will take place beginning at 2:00 PM if the weather is clear.
- No students should wear their costume or make-up to school. Time will be provided for students to change into their costumes before the parade.
- Costumes depicting any violence, blood or horror as seen in the movies, news or comics are not permitted. Please save the "blood or gore" for trick or treat night.
- Weapons of any kind, including metal, plastic, wood, and cardboard, are not permitted.
- Costumes should reflect age-appropriate characters without masks (all faces need to be visible).
- Please use your best judgment in regard to costumes which may be inappropriate for school
If you do not wish to have your child participate in the parade or classroom activities that follow, please write a note to your child’s teacher. Your child will be excused from the festivities beginning at 1:50 PM and provided an alternative activity not related to this event.
We request that students in kindergarten to fifth grade bring their costumes to school in a bag with their name and teacher’s name marked clearly on the bag. Students will be provided time in the classroom to dress in their costumes in preparation for the parade.
In order to help ensure the health, safety, and well being of all our students and staff, the following procedures will be followed:
- Parents/Guardians and community members that plan on watching the parade will do so along the parade route. No visitors, with the exception of room captains, will be permitted in children’s classrooms before or after the parade.
- We ask that parents and community members also do not wear masks as all faces need to be visible.
- The parade will begin promptly at 2:00 PM as students walk in a single file line out the front doors, in front of the kindergarten playground, and along the blacktop/recess yard, and back into the building.
- Classroom parties will take place immediately after the parade. Parents will not be permitted to enter the school following the parade. This is for the safety of all children and staff, and to maintain order within the building. Only room captains who are assisting with the parade and/or classroom celebrations will be permitted into the building.
- If the weather conditions are poor and the parade needs to be canceled, a decision will be made by 9:00 AM that morning and will be announced via School Messenger and the Willow Dale Elementary School website. In the event of a cancellation, the parade will not be rescheduled. Students will still have their scheduled classroom activities.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with these procedures to ensure the safety and well being of all students and staff. We are looking forward to an enjoyable day for everyone.
Sincerely,
Catherine Perkins

Feeding Everyone at Special Times
In 2012 NJS Charity Fund was founded for the sole purpose of helping local people in need have a nice holiday meal at Thanksgiving. The thought of doing more expanded to the Christmas Holiday as well. The focus is to supply nice holiday meals for people in need predominantly in the Bucks and Montgomery Counties. The name has now been changed to FEAST. Feeding Everyone at Special Times. Special times has been defined by FEAST as any time people are in need of a good meal. Our primary focus is but not limited to Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. What started as a little bit of a whim, has started to gain some traction and grow in size. Give people a hand up not a handout.
What we do?
Individual Meals are prepared. Turkey/Ham, Stuffing, Vegetable, Bread, Dessert.
As people are identified they are added to our list. Privacy is respected as most of the people we serve come from local schools and churches.
