Chehalem Elementary Newsletter- Feb. 19, 2021
What a crazy week with the weather and power/internet issues. Thank you as always for your flexibility as we do our best to work through the trials and tribulations of distance learning.
As a reminder, the metrics are looking good for a K/1/2 hybrid start on April 5th and 3/4/5 start on April 12th (for those who want to transition from CDL). Over the next few weeks we will be looking at numbers of students choosing each option and best ways to assign teaching staff. I don't have firm deadlines on when you will know your child's teacher or whether your child will be in the a.m. or p.m. cohort. All information will be shared with you as quickly as allowed.
I will do my best to keep students with their current teachers, but that will not always be possible. We will create classroom activities to wind down the learning experiences with current teachers and classmates and get to know you activities for the new teachers and classes.
More information coming soon. Thank you for your patience.
Also, next Wednesday is a full day professional development and work day for teachers. There will be no launch on that day, but teachers may push out asynchronous work or give it as a catch-up day for students. Please look for information from your child's teacher.
Stay healthy and well!
