May News from the Office
It is hard to believe May is already here. This school year seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. Though the end of the school year is full of special events, we continue to maintain high expectations, behaviorally and academically, for our students. Please share the same message with your students as we look to finish the school year strong as a Harding family.
Thank you for your continued support of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students during PSSA testing. We hope your child shares with you our daily celebration of encouraging test takers to try their best. Harding Elementary is proud of the dedication and focus we have witnessed so far. Let's keep it up!

District Spelling Bee
Congratulations to 5th grader Jayden for placing second place in the District Spelling Bee. He is a great example of the students who learn within Harding's classrooms daily. We are proud of you, Jayden!
Harding PTO
Thank you to the parents and staff who had a hand in raising funds for our school or supported our students this year. Our current SchoolStore.com fundraiser has helped raise about $500 so far!
If you are interested in helping with Harding's PTO in the future, please contact our office. The PTO is looking for parents to take more control over the organization, with the support of the school.

Read, Read, Read and Love It
At-Home Reading
Each night, students are expected to read for 15 minutes. Students log their 15 minutes as "one step" on their reading log. Please be sure to help log those steps and return all materials (reading log, books, folder, book bag) back to school each day.
ATTEND, ACHIEVE, SUCCEED
SWPBIS
Harding's School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) program is committed to establishing a social culture within our school in which students expect and support appropriate behavior from one another. At Harding, we strive to...
Be Respectful
Be Responsible
Be Safe
Students who show these traits are rewarded with blue tickets from teachers as recognition of their positive character traits. Each week, winners from each grade level are selected from the collected blue tickets to earn special prizes. In March, the choices are:
1. Teacher Helper (winner picks a teacher to help for 20 minutes)
2. Extra PE with Mr. Doster (student gets 15 extra minutes of PE with Mr. Doster)
3. Visit with Mr. Reager
Certain students also have the opportunity to receive Golden Tickets which allow them to participate in a special monthly reward. Please encourage ways for your child to be respectful, responsible, and safe while at home as well. We appreciate and value the connection between home and school.
Mrs. Ward's Counseling Page
Welcome to the Harding Elementary School Counseling Webpage! Feel free to use the virtual counseling room with students. The webpage also includes contact information for outside services to further support the students in our school. My hope is that this webpage will become a useful tool for the students and families in our school during times of stress and anxiety. Let’s make the future a bright one!
