Mountain View Weekly Update
September 18
Announcements & Updates
- On September 27, Mountain View will host its first Advisory meetings. The Advisory program creates a positive school climate by allowing students an opportunity to practice social and emotional skills, while building new friendships. Advisory challenges students to focus on the importance of community, respect and integrity. Character-building activities and community service projects build leadership skills, while generating a feeling that school is meaningful and fun! Next week, we'll dive in by setting the tone for the school year by sharing the words of wisdom in the book "Only One You."
- With the school year well underway, administration would like to remind students and parents of the importance of bicycle and pedestrian safety. When walking/biking to school, please remember to use the designated crosswalks. New Jersey's bicycle helmet law states that individuals under the age of 17 must wear a safety helmet. In addition, we kindly ask that students walk their bikes to the rack once on school property and refrain from riding on the sidewalks.
- Mountain View is pleased to announce Tommy Fredericks as the New York Jets Upstander of the Week. Tommy was selected for the kindness and support that he shows his peers. Congratulations!
- Attention 8th grade parents: Design of the 2017-2018 Yearbook is well underway, and we need your child's baby photo (newborn - toddler). Faces must be no larger than a quarter. Submit your photo via email to dragon@mendhamboroschools.org. Don't have an electronic file? Submit hard copies to Mr. Dragon.
