Student Lighthouse Team for Students in Grades 3-5
Labrador Families,
As you know, we are committed to empowering your child and helping every student find their voice so they can become leaders. In an effort to take student empowerment to an even higher level, we are seeking interested students for our 2022-23 Student Lighthouse Team! Our goal is to have student representatives from the 3rd-5th grade level with the intention to offer the primary grades and opportunity later in the school year. We would like to have a team in place by the beginning of Trimester 2.
The Student Lighthouse Team is a group of students in our school who synergize to have a positive impact on students, staff, families, and communities. SLT often sponsors family learning events and initiatives, school beautification efforts, emotional environment campaigns, and community service projects. They also expand student leadership roles, create student input systems, plan for schoolwide and community events, and maintain our school wide scoreboards.
Successful SLT Members;
Are dependable, reliable, and respectful
Complete classwork and homework assignments on time
Possess a strong work ethic
Independent self starter
Demonstrate exemplary conduct and citizenship in and out of school
Have excellent attendance (are on time with limited absences and early check outs)
Demonstrate good judgment and decision making skills
May be comfortable with public speaking
Have the willingness to teach and or demonstrate the 7 Habits to other students
Will be able to attend SLT meetings after school
If your child possesses the successful habits listed above and are interested in this leadership role, please have them apply for the position. Applications will be available on October 24th and will be posted in the MPR on the Leadership Jobs Application Board.
PTO Meeting
Our next PTO Meeting of the school year will be on Wednesday, October 26 at 6:30 pm in the Science Room. This month we will have guests from the LVJUSD Bond Office present about the district’s Facilities Master Plan and how it relates to Measure G.
Right at School will be providing on-site child care to potty-trained children for interested families. If you are interested in placing your child in their care during the PTO Meeting, please fill out this interest form: https://tinyurl.com/LawrencePTOMtgChildcare by Monday 10/24 at noon.
For those unable to attend in person, our Zoom link will be tinyurl.com/LawrencePTOMeeting and the passcode is “LoveRLabs”.
Please note. For the safety of all involved, before entering Zoom please change your name on Zoom. List your first name, last name, and student’s teacher name (e.g. Jack Skellington, Mrs. Plattner.) If these are not listed when logging in, you will not be allowed to enter Zoom. Thank you for your understanding as we do our best to keep our Labrador families safe.
