Everyone NEEDS to READ EVERY NIGHT! We Need to reach the ONE MILLION by Winter Break

Read to ONE MILLION - Extended until after the Winter Break

WE ARE EXTENDING THE READ TO ONE MILLION CAMPAIGN - IT WILL GO THROUGH WINTER BREAK. YOUR CHILD NEEDS TO READ, READ, READ!!!!! WE WILL SEND HOME A READING LOG FOR THE STUDENTS TO USE DURING WINTER BREAK NEXT WEEK. PLEASE CONTINUE USING THE LITTLE YELLOW SHEETS THROUGH THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

Rasor Elementary Read to One Million campaign started this weekend. As a school, we are asking the students to read 30 minutes everyday. We all need to BE PROACTIVE and SYNERGIZE, so that we can reach our grade level goal.

Your child needs to read a total of 225 minutes each week. If they read 30 minutes each night, they will reach the total for the week. We will also count some classroom time. Every student needs to participate.

Here are the stats:

Brown's Class - 25,635

McCary's Class - 29,880

Kirby's Class - 27,956

West's Class - 35,630

for a GRAND total of 119,101

Rasor Elementary total - 589,438

Just think if everyone PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST and we had 100% reading and counting the minutes, we could super exceed this total. We could "knock it out of the ballpark!". Please remember to read and document your minutes. Looking forward to seeing the totals on Friday.

Let's Begin With the End in Mind and Think Win Win and read, read, read!!!!!!

AVID - Advancement Via Individual Determination

Rasor has become an AVID elementary school this year. Second expectations for AVID this year. The students are to write their first and last name at the top of the paper. If there is a name line on the paper, they write their name on the line. If there is not a name line, then they write their name on the top right hand side of the paper. Next semester we will add in the date under their name. We have started doing this on some papers. This is an expectation on each and every assignment we work on. When your child works on his/her homework, this is an expectation you should also have for them. Thank you for your support.

Rasor Elementary, with the community, will give us a safe, caring place to learn and reach our dreams.
