K-5 report cards will all be electronic this year
With the implementation of Skyward Family Access, we are pleased to inform you that report cards for students in grades K-12 will be made available electronically beginning with our first grading period this fall.
To prepare for this transition, please be advised that grades will not be available on Skyward Family Access between 8:00 a.m. Friday, October 11 and 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17. Teachers will utilize that time to enter their grades into the system. Parents may view their child’s report card via Skyward Family Access after 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17. As a reminder, Skyward Family Access is also available as a mobile application that can be used to access student data, including report cards, from most mobile devices.
Please note, student report cards will no longer be printed. Parents without internet or mobile access may obtain a paper copy of their child’s report card by contacting the school.
We are excited about the upcoming transition to electronic report cards and the efficiencies this will create for our parents and families. If you have any questions regarding your Skyward account, contact skyward@ltisdschools.org for assistance. For more information on Family Access, click here.

Storybook Character Dress Up Day
Thursday, October 31, is Literacy Appreciation Day at Serene Hills Elementary. Students are invited to come to school dressed as their favorite storybook character. Please have your child bring a copy of the book that includes the character they represent. No toy weapons, masks or scary outfits are permitted. This is a normal school day so students need to make sure they can run in PE. We look forward to seeing all of our favorite storybook characters come to life!
Check out the library resources below.
1st 9 Weeks Top EZscan Distance Runners
From Coach Z-
I want to congratulate all students on their running progress for the 1st 9 weeks. All students 1st-5th grade have been using our EZscan run cards on the track as much as possible during PE and also run club. The top 10 students each 9 weeks will earn a gold shoe charm (see chart below).
Kindergarten cards will begin to be used in the 2nd 9 weeks. I know they are excited to get them! Our students 1st through 5th have ran 5,887 miles so far! WOW! When students reach 26.2 miles they can let me know and receive a NIKE Marathon for Kids t-shirt. Then each marathon they run, there after, also has a prize. Let’s encourage these kids to keep moving!
Our first mile run this year will be on Thursday and Friday next week depending on your child’s PE day. 5th grade Purple and Orange group will need to be on Tuesday Oct. 15th because that group has some classes on a field trip on Thursday. Please help your kiddos to be prepared with their best running shoes and comfortable running outfit. Their laps will be marked on their hand (6.5 laps is a mile) and their time will be written on their hand as they finish. We will do a total of 4 mile runs this year. Each time they improve their time they will earn a shoe charm. We want students to focus on improving their own time each run. The top two boys and girls in each grade will qualify for the end of the year mile race off. These students will run for the title of the fastest boy and girl in their grade.
Reminder- Please do not drop off students prior to 7:20 AM. Our outside supervision begins at 7:20.
