Morning: 8:20 a.m. - 8:35 a.m.
Afternoon: 2:55 p.m. - 3:05 p.m.
This change ensures the safety of students being transported to school following current guidelines. This change also provides the opportunity for Middle School East, West and High School students to be transported with building peers only.
REMINDER: NO SCHOOL - FEBRUARY 12TH AND 15TH!
Attendance
Students enrolled in Distance Learning are expected to attend their full schedule of live classes each day. Starting on February 1st (5th Grade) and February 16th (6th-8th Grade), students will no longer be required to answer the daily attendance question. Instead, attendance will be tracked based on the student's participation in their live classes. If your child is sick or unable to attend live classes for the day, please contact the MSE attendance office, (meattendance@mystma.org; 763-497-2655) as you would if your child was attending in person.
If you have any questions about Distance Learning attendance monitoring, please contact Assistant Principal David Holler (davidh@mystma.org).
Schedules
Students will remain in a learning cohort throughout the school day. Movement throughout the school will be limited to begin with and reviewed after the first few weeks of students' return to school. Students will transition during the day to their Active Learning Block Classes, Lunch time and Recesses.
All students and staff will continue to follow the expectation of wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. Classrooms will be sanitized whenever students transition. We are thrilled that students will have more opportunity to move throughout the day, see friends and have outside recess time. If you need support, please contact our School Counselors:

Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. In light of the restrictions with the COVID pandemic, conferences will be held virtually. Conferences will be held on Monday, February 8th and Thursday, February 18th from 3:45-7:45 p.m. Please utilize this document to communicate with your child's teachers what questions or concerns you have regarding their education. Email tends to be an effective means of communication when there is a straightforward question/answer to be provided, whereas a personal conversation is more appropriate when discussion and collaboration are needed. Within each evening of conferences, time will be allotted for you to ask for either email or phone communication, while the remaining time will be utilized by staff to reach out to families that they are feeling a need to communicate and connect with. Thank you for your continued engagement with your child’s education through productive conversations with your child and their teachers. They will certainly support a positive conclusion to Trimester 2 on March 11th.

Setting Boundaries!
Parents and children are spending a significant amount of time together during this pandemic. With our changing learning models, many families have felt frustrated while trying to help their child academically, socially, and emotionally. The more time we spend together, the more chances there are for conflict. If you are looking for ways to get out of a negative rut, check out this blog on setting boundaries from Spark and Stitch Institute. There is also a class you can enroll in if you want additional resources and ideas!
