Convocation Ceremony

Wednesday's Convocation Ceremony (A large assembly - in the auditorium - to celebrate the new entry of students at EMS) will begin at 9:30am.

What? Rituals and Routines help establish culture. At EMS, one yearly ritual is the Convocation of incoming 6th grade students. This is an opportunity for all 6th graders to come together for the first time: the Class of 2028!

Why? EMS hosts Convocation to establish a culture of learning and togetherness. Being their first time in secondary schools, our 6th graders are presented with an opportunity to practice School Spirit, to hear from their principal about the school's academics, athletics, and activities, and to sign into the building.

How? 6th grade students will come together in the school's auditorium. Row-by-row students will come to the stage to sign into the building. Each student will be presented with a half of a donut. The other half will be promised to the students when they graduate from Estacada High School in seven years.

Chromebooks: Handing Out on 9/9 (Thursday)

Your student will be issued her/his Chromebook on Thursday, September 9th during their Life class. Expect your student to bring home their Chromebook and Chromebook Charger on that day.

The charger is intended to stay at home. Please charge the Chromebook each night.

The Chromebook is to travel with your student to and from school, daily. It is expected and necessary for your student to bring their Chromebook home each day in the case of an unexpected requirement to quarantine.

We will work with you and your student throughout the year to improve their technological literacy and capacity of PowerSchool, Canvas, and Google Suite apps.

Estacada Middle School

Our mission is to equip each student with the skills necessary to be resourceful and successful.
