MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL OPHUS
Dear Fairview Families,
What an exciting week we’ve had at Fairview! It was great to see so many of our students and families on Wednesday evening to enjoy the art gallery walk, Book Fair and ice cream treat at our annual Fine Arts Night! Our students have done a great job all year long with their various art projects, and it was nice to be able to share it with all of you! Special thanks to Mrs. Piscitello for her leadership of our art program and for all of her efforts in getting everything ready for Wednesday’s event. Thanks also to Mrs. Larson for keeping the Book Fair open on Wednesday evening for families to enjoy and for coordinating the details to make the Book Fair happen this spring. Special thanks to Mrs. Hermanson, Mrs. Noll and Ms. O’Donnell for volunteering their time to work at the Book Fair on Wednesday evening, and to Audrey and Michael Canavino for running the ice cream station representing our wonderful PTO. Looking ahead to this afternoon and evening, we will be holding the PTO Fun Fair later today from 4:00-7:00 pm. on the bus turnaround side of the school. The Fun Fair will include lots of games, music, a cake walk, a food truck, photo booth, candy wheel and more! We hope you are able to join us for all of the fun later today!
Our Fairview Student Council, in partnership with the Fairview PTO, is going to use some of the funds they’ve raised during the school year to treat all students to a Kona Ice treat on Friday, May 27th. The students felt that this would be a good way to celebrate a successful school year, and I agree! In order to participate, all students must have a permission slip filled out. Please take a moment to fill out this form to let us know whether or not your child has permission to participate. You will need to fill this form out multiple times if you have more than one child at Fairview. If we don’t have a permission form filled out, your child will not be able to enjoy the Kona Ice treat, so please take a moment now to fill it out. Thank you for your help!
As you have already been notified via email from the district office, the registration process for next school year is underway. As we are planning for next year, please notify the front office if you are moving or will not be returning to Fairview next school year. For students who are returning to Fairview or heading to Lincoln next year, please register your child by June 21st. By doing this, you will receive the discounted rate for both instructional and transportation fees. For more information about the registration process, you can visit the registration page on the D57 website. Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter each week. Have a nice weekend!
Sincerely,
Dan Ophus
Fairview Principal
