Edgar Allan Poe was a very well known writer, and still is today.
Although he was very famous his childhood was not, his mother died at the age of 24 from T.B. his father was a alcoholic and left and later died, and when all of that happened to top it off he had to leave his siblings and move to a different family. A very big part of his life was filled with death and sickness. But he grew up and wanted to become a writer. His first written and published poem was called Tamerlane, he first wrote that when he was only 18 years old. But his most significant work was called The Raven. Since his life was filled with sadness, sickness, hurt, and death, it took a big tole on his work, it made him write about his dark secrets and sadness, his writing was all about death and sickness, it was very gruesome, and morbid. But after a while he met a wife married and she died of T.B at the age of 24 just like his mother. After that he turned to alcohol and turned to a drunk, he didn't write for months. He started writing again and was traveling to New York but then went missing, someone found him and took him to the hospital where he later died. No one knows why he died, but it was very tragic.
