We Need You to Complete Free/Reduced Lunch Applications

Yes...All families will receive free breakfast and lunch this year due to a district waiver. Lee's Summit Elementary is a Title 1 Building. This means we receive federal funding directly tied to free and reduced lunch applications from our families. WE MUST HAVE OUR FAMILIES COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION. Five staff members that directly impact student instruction and supervision at LSE are paid from these funds. Please complete this application! Many more families qualify for free/reduced breakfast/lunch than realize!

We will be providing options for Meet Your Teacher to try and meet the needs of our families while also working to keep our students, families and staff safe! Our goal is to provide mitigation strategies so we can all work together to keep our students and staff IN SCHOOL!

  • Classroom teachers will send a sign up to families to identify what time they would like to attend a short meet and greet with their child's teacher. These will be in 15 minute time slots and will be limited to 5 families per time slot so that we can distance in classrooms as much as possible. We ask that families do their best to limit the number of adults they bring to school as we must contact trace all that enter our building. ALL those that come into our school MUST wear masks at all times. The purpose of meet your teacher is to bring school supplies and to have a quick meet and greet!
  • Classroom teachers will send all information/documents needed to families by noon on Monday, August 23.
  • PTA will be set up in the cafeteria so families can join PTA in a socially distanced format
  • Virtual Meet Your Teacher will be available at 6:10 pm via Google Meet for families that are more comfortable in a virtual format or cannot attend in person sessions
  • We will be encouraging families to stay socially distanced, be attentive to not congregating, and stay masked.

Monitoring Your Child's Technology Use and Parental Controls

Securly Home is a free app that works with district issued devices. The app allows you to receive weekly updates, monitor your students' searches, web views, and flagged content. It allows parents to modify some Internet filter settings during times the Chromebook is being used off-campus. For example, if parents want the Chromebook turned off at 7:00 p.m. each night, they can sim9ply click a button in the Securly Home app. A video overview of the Securly home app.
