New Changes

Abbeville will be implementing 2 new changes to help curb some negative activities, while increasing safety on school campus.


The first change will be the Bell Schedule. Beginning this starting this week, intervention will be moved to the morning. AHS we also utilize that time to hold class meetings. In doing so, this allow seniors who leave early to be informed on pending graduation information.


The second adjustment will take place after Mardi Gras Break when we return as AHS will move to an electronic hall pass. Students will have to check in with their teacher before going to the restroom. Hopefully we can reduce vandalism, vaping, and students skipping class.

Vermilion Parish car raffle sale is under way, ticket order forms will distributed first period. All proceeds will return directly to the school. Students who sell the following will receive:


2 Tickets = Monday Free Dress for March

5 Tickets = Monday Free Dress for March & April

10 Tickets = Monday Free Dress March-May

School ACT Testing

March 7th, after the return from Mardi Gras Break, all juniors will take the ACT, while sophomores will take the Pre-ACT. Make-ups will take place on Saturday March 11th. Freshman will have a virtual learning day.

Tutoring this week will be Monday-Thursday, 2:30-3:30. Transportation is provided. This Saturday, February 18th there will be WorkKeys & Customer Service practice for the upcoming test.

Athletic Fundraiser

Tuesday is the last day to purchase fish dinners from the front office. Tickets are $12 with raise going to expenses such as:


  • Game officials.
  • Travel Expenses.
  • Meals to feed athletes.
  • Facility upgrades (wood for locker repairs, grass fertilizer, paint, etc.)
  • Uniform purchases.
