Mr. Farr's Students Participate in DOMES Project
Mr. Farr's college-level chemistry class (CCP through Southern State), has been busy this summer working with the Little Miami Conservancy to test water quality in the Little Miami watershed. The effort is part of the DOMES (Dissolved Oxygen Monitoring Education and Stewardship) Project.
In June the students attended in-lab training on methods to test dissolved oxygen, phosphates, nitrate, and ammonia. In July the group got their feet wet during field testing training.
The students are responsible for monitoring water quality twice a month through mid-November. They will be taking samples from Cowan Creek, Dutch Creek, Todd's Fork Creek and the Little Miami River.
